From Dec. 9th to 18th, 2011, Vice President Ren Zhiguo accompanied by five other delegates, paid a visit to Griffith University in Australia and University of Canterbury in New Zealand on invitation.
When in Australia,the delegation visited Griffith University (GU)�where Prof. Marilyn McMenniman, Vice President of GU, together with Ms. Ann Hammond, Director of International Marketing & Business Development, Dr. Robyn Hollander, Head of Department of Politics & Public Policy, and Ms. Shelly Malle, International Delegation &Communications Co-Ordinator had an in-depth discussion with our delegation on such areas as cooperation training mode of undergraduate and graduate, programs of exchange students, spoken English promotion projects as well as cultural exchanges and cooperations etc. Both sides also had a serious consultation on the signing of a cooperation framework agreement. The delegation also visited the University of Sydney and University of Technology, Sydney in Australia.
The delegation then visited University of Canterbury (UC) in New Zealand. Prof. Adrian Sawyer, Vice-President of UC, Prof. Sonia Mazey, Associate Dean of College of Business &Economics, Ms. Laura Meriluoto, International Business Director of College of Business & Economics as well as Mr. Chris Hawker, director of Equipment and Operation Service warmly welcomed our delegation. Both parties communicated and discussed on intensifying our co-training programs of graduates and expending the programs of exchange undergraduates. The delegation also looked around its campus and saw its school facilities, studying and exchanging ideas of school construction and management with faculties from UC.
During this visit, Vice-President Ren Zhiguo introduced to those universities the characteristics, advantages, and also the strategy of promoting educational internationalization of ZJSU which attracted their great interest and extended the fame and influence of ZJSU. By visiting the universities of Australia and New Zealand, the delegation obtained some direct perceptions and understandings of the school training mode, operation mechanism and management of their universities, which would facilitate our development of international perspective and strengthen the cooperation and communication with the universities in Australia and New Zealand. |
